Welcome to the blog stats page! I officially started the site 11/01/2017 after a couple of weeks of having it active for testing. The main point of this page is to track my progress to see how things are going on a monthly basis. This will push me to continually improve as time goes on.
I also will use this as a record to look back on to see my thought process at the time.
Page Views and Social Media
For now I will just show number of page views, visitors, and comments as that is a decent way to know how the site is doing. Here is the snapshot of page views, unique visitors, and number of comments for my first two months.
Although two data sets does not make a trend, it was still nice to see the numbers go up in month number two. Hopefully this continues to slowly grow this year as well.
More than doubling the number of Twitter followers in the second month was surprising as well. I am just happy there were more people out there interested enough to hit follow.
Other than responding to the comments on my posts, this has been my main source of interaction with the rest of the community. This part of the experience has exceeded all expectations. Everyone I have interacted with has been great.
I look forward to continuing to find more great people to interact with.
Takeaways From First Two Months of Blogging
The first two months went by fast. I hope I have had a positive impact on a person or two.
- Interactions with others in the personal finance blogging community are even better than I thought they would be.
- It is A LOT of work. Rewarding but still a lot.
- There is definitely a correlation with the effort put in and the payback received. This is not always the case in the corporate world. I will probably always feel like I could have done more, but I am happy with the current work/life balance.
- I fight the need to have everything looking as great as some of the well established blogs. I know I will get there, this is a marathon for me but the desire to get there quickly is still present.
Thanks to everyone who has spent the time to read a post or leave a comment! Interacting with people who have such a desire to help others is a rewarding experience.
